A New year for a New car, how can I choose a new car?

By GalaTView Staff

When you were young, you knew exactly what kind of car you wanted when you grew up. It was the most expensive car on the market, and it would have all the bells and whistles, because imaginary money is never a problem. Today, however, you are all grown up, and you know the importance of getting value for your dollar. The search for a new car can be grueling. However, if you understand the basics of choosing a car, you can get a good value and still incorporate at least some of those bells and whistles.

Step 1

List the essentials the new car must have. If you have children, you might want a four-door vehicle. If you commute a distance to work, good mileage might be a must. Make the list as tight as possible, including only the elements that are non-negotiable.

Step 2

Choose the negotiable things you would like to have in your car. If there is a specific type of wheel that you want, write it down. If a sun-roof sounds fun, put it on the list. This list is reserved for things you hope to find, as long as they are in your price range.

Step 3

Read consumer reports. Once you have narrowed your target makes and models, you can read consumer reports to discover what people who already own the cars think about them. Take note of recurring themes, such as constant brake issues, or transmissions going out by 160,000 miles. Such reviews are not scientifically valid; however, it’s important to remember this old adage. If the whole world is saying it, there may be some truth to what the people are saying.

Step 4

Test drive several models. Even if you think you have your mind made up, test driving more than one model will give you an objective idea about what you want. Color of the car and type of interior cloth do not matter during the test drive. You are driving it to determine comfort, handling and power. Once you choose the style you want to purchase, you can begin looking for it in the color you desire.

Step 5

Ask for extra goodies. The perfect car may be in front of you. Yet, if you had your heart set on a 5 CD stereo system–yet the car only has an FM/AM radio–you can always ask the dealer to toss in your preferred sound system free of charge. All he can say is no; therefore, it is always worth at least asking.

Step 6

Talk to a mechanic. After finding the make and model you want, checking the consumer reviews and taking it for a spin, you should talk to a mechanic about potential repair and maintenance costs. If satisfied with the information, make the purchase and enjoy your new car.

Kim Jong Il died and North Koreans suffer for their President

By GalaTView Staff

After years of speculation about Kim Jong Il’s declining health, North Korean television has reported that the leader has passed away. He was 69.

For South Koreans, Kim Jong Il’s sudden death drove home an unsettling disparity between them and their neighbors — a gap that could spark turmoil, if an unstable North Korea were to collapse. At this point, some in Seoul say, North and South Korea hold nothing in common but a language.

Now, nobody knows how to stay the relationship between the U.S. and North Korea if Kim Jong Il’s son would be the next President.

As a died-in-the-wool Sherlockian, Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows

By Jenny Alvarez

GalaTView Staff

Sherlock Holmes has always been the smartest man in the room… until now. There is a new criminal mastermind at large – Professor Moriarty – and not only is he Holmes’ intellectual equal, but his capacity for evil, coupled with a complete lack of conscience, may actually give him an advantage over the renowned detective. However, some characters spoke too quickly and scenes would flash by to fast, but between Robert Downey’s performance, the humorous winks, and the great visual and especially sound effects, Guy Ritchie won again with his creativity in many special effects of this film.

On the other hand, Sherlock almost died in a scene with his enemy but he shows us even that cleverly camouflaged in a suit and reappearing some it sounds a bit illogical after a scene unquestionably dangerous, so the enemy dies? Is a response we will not know until there is possibly a third part and the question is? Are you being willing to see it?
