Johnny Depp is an Indian Officially

When Johnny Depp revealed his new role as a Tonto, a Native America, the New Mexico-based Comanche Nation tribe decided to adopt the actor. Johnny Depp will be in the upcoming film The Lone Ranger. LaDonna Harris, a Comanche and president of Americans for Indian Opportunity stated “I reached out, and Johnny was very receptive to the idea. He seemed proud to receive the invitation, and we were honored that he so enthusiastically agreed.” Looks like Depp is getting in touch his his Indian roots.

Is Lady Gaga the Next Mark Zuckerberg?

Lady Gaga has plans to start her own social networking site. On Twitter, the pop star sensations has 24 million followers and she wants to create her own social vehicle. This site would be invite only and would include all Gaga fanatics. Gaga plans to have her “Little Monsters” share pictures, Gaga news, and it will be owned by her manager Troy Carter. Looks like the “fame” is not over yet for Gaga.

Robin Gibb, from Bee Gees, Dies from Cancer

Robin Gibb was a British singer and songwriter from the musical group Bee Gee and has passed away. Gibb was one of the brother from the pop group and was 62. A statement from the family stated  “passed away today following his long battle with cancer and intestinal surgery.” He died in England. He and two of his brothers made up the Bee Gees, which sold over 200 million albums. Their hits include “Night Fever,” “Staying Alive” and “How Deep Is Your Love”. With Robin’s death, Barry became the last surviving Gibb brother.

Youth Protest Against Lady Gaga

Protesters from a group named Biblemode Youth Philippines took the streets of Manila to rally against Gaga. Lady Gaga is currently in Asia for her tour, but has had similar incidents where this part of the world finds her music to be offensive for the religious youth. The young protesters are calling for the cancellation of the pop star’s concerts in the majority Roman Catholic country. “She declared a distorted view toward Jesus Christ and for us Biblical Christians it is offensive,” protest leader Ruben Abante stated to AP. “Her music and everything about her is different from what our values are.” In South Korea, authorities banned people under 18 to attend her concert. Authorities in the Philippines approve of Gaga performing in their country, but they ask that she stays away from any nudity or lewd conduct.

Band 'String Cheese Incident' Pays Fees for Fans

The independent Colorado band String Cheese Incident gave their fans an allotment of tickets to their shows without a service charge. The band also agreed to pay any credit card service charge and wanted to have as many ‘volunteers’ attendees as possible, in order to give their fans better ticket deals. “We have a really strong fan base; it’s a tight-knit group of people and it’s been like that from day one,” stated Michael Kang the band mandolinist and guitarist “We’ve always had a group mandate, early on, to just do things we can to help our community out.” In 2003, the band took Ticket Master to court in order to sell more tickets through their own website.  

Tom Morello is a Revolutionist in Chicago Rally

Tom Morello performs at a National Nurses United rally and he pumps the crowd. He performs cover songs by Bruce Springsteen and rattles the Chicago protesters. Some protesters wore Robin Hood hats and nurse scrubs to represent the Robin Hood tax that would tax financial institutions, which they mean to impose. Tom stated that the Rally was for the 99% that was left out. As he was performing, his mic turns off and Tom assumes the Chicago police turned it off  and he yells “either by design or by accident,” Morello yelled “But that will not stop the show.” Tom’s mic eventually turned on and he continued to perform. Tom played songs such as “One Man Revolution” and “Union Song”. Police stated that the rally was peaceful overall.

“Polisse” will not disturb the Parisian Child Protection

The daily grind for the cops of the Police Department’s Juvenile Protection Unit (Riccardo Scamarcio, Marina Foïs, Maïwenn Le Besco, joey starr) taking in child molesters, busting underage pickpockets and chewing over relationship issues at lunch; interrogating abusive parents, taking statements from children, confronting the excesses of teen sexuality, enjoying solidarity with colleagues and laughing uncontrollably at the most unthinkable moments. Knowing the worst exists and living with it!

There are interesting ideas in the main dialogue with disturbing content, this movie reflects French drama about a courageous team of men and women in a Parisian Child Protection Unit. However, every sequence has a great intensity, which has the paradoxical effect of lessening the overall oomph. Many real social facts are part in each case that this team has to face such as: rape, sexual abuse, child endangerment, underage prostitution and even a boy who’s put up for sale. Sometimes the infamy is the bureaucracy itself, which can’t be roused to protect the vulnerable.

Simple solutions often elude these cops, who work the multiethnic, relatively downscale neighborhoods of northeast Paris. Most of the victims are hopeless especially infants and some of these officers develop work relationships that are more intense than others.

Fred, the group’s hypersensitive wild card, is going to have a hard time facing the scrutiny of Melissa, a photographer on a Ministry of the Interior assignment to document the unit. Even there are some shocking moments, especially with the crimes mentioned here would seem horrific to anyone with a pulse, but it’s all the more disturbing on the real life happens so is highly recommended. This movie opens in limited release on May 18^th

'Blade Runner' Sequel is a Possibility

The British film director and producer Ridley Scott has stated that the ‘Blade Runner’ sequel is in the works. Ridley Scott has directed films such as ‘Alien’, ‘American Gangster’, and has recently produced ‘Prometheus’. During an interview, Scott stated about the sequel “Funny enough, I started my first meetings on the Blade Runner sequel last week, we have a very good take on it. And we’ll definitely be featuring a female protagonist.” Scott’s latest production film ‘Prometheus’ will be coming out soon and fans are suspecting that it is a linked universe between his films ‘Alien’ and ‘Blade Runner’.
