Major Harris, the man who sang the R&B classic “Love Won’t Let Me Wait” has died

Harris, 65, a former member of the Delfonics passed away Friday at a Richmond hospital from congestive heart and lung failure, according to his sister Catherine Thoms. Major Harris, the R&B singer who helped pioneer the sweeping sounds of Philadelphia soul during the 1970s as a member of the Delfonics before achieving fame as a solo artist in his own right, signing a deal with Atlantic Records whereupon he scored a slew of R&B hits. Among his best known was “Love Won’t Let Me Wait,” which reached the top five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The 2012 Dia de Los Muertos festival at Hollywood Forever Cemetery is the largest celebration of it’s kind in California. This year’s event will reach back to the pre-Aztec roots of Dia De Los Muertos and explore the Mayan Gods, rituals and calendar. This celebration will be placed at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, on 6000 Santa Monica Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90038 this coming Saturday October 27, 2012 from 12PM to 12AM.

This joyful celebration of our ancestors will feature:
