A War is emotionally powerful

Magnolia Pictures will open Danish filmmaker Tobias Lindholm’s (Writer/Director of A HIJACKING; Co-writer of THE HUNT and “Borgen”) bruising and brooding third feature, A war, begins with commander Claus M. Pedersen (Pilou Asbæk, star of the upcoming sixth season of Game of Thrones) and his men are stationed in an Afghan province. Meanwhile, back in Denmark, Claus’ wife Maria (Tuva Novotny) is trying to hold everyday life together with a husband at war and three children who are missing their father. During a routine mission, the soldiers are caught in heavy crossfire and in order to save his men, Claus makes a decision that has grave consequences for not only him, but also for his family back home. As Lindholm did with his gripping hostage drama A HIJACKING, he once again employs those who have been closest to the conflict. In A war he uses Danish soldiers and Taliban warriors, relatives and refugees, as he strives towards realism. Definitely is a film that involved ethics and legal chaos in the battled field. Therefore, many parts of the plot were well managed with sensitivity and detail. Many scenes reflect the humane side and the stressful moments of a martial court. Be a commander officer means to accomplish any kind of duty and foremost to ensure the safety of his soldiers and to treat all Afghans, without distinction, as potential enemies. The best and well rounded characters and brilliantly played in each scene.

The tears of the world are a constant quantity in “Boulevard”

People are really looking forward to this film. Robin Williams has always been an excellent dramatic actor and this film makes his last role one of the best. The routine of everyday life quietly peels away to reveal the struggle of a loving husband in conflict with his inner-self in Boulevard. While Nolan Mack (Robin Williams) and his wife Joy (Kathy Baker) wake up under the same roof each morning, separate bedrooms underscore the disparate worlds they are living in. His emotional journey begins to unfold with a drive down a desolate city street where he encounters a troubled young man named Leo (Roberto Aguire). As lost time slowly awakens Nolan’s secret life, he realizes that truth is an opportunity for change.

Directed by Dito Montiel and written by Douglas Soesbe, this film makes Robin’s role one of his best and serious roles with a bitter sadness and has the ability to feel and portray emotion with such genius, both through laughter and pathos, was his curse as well as our gift as audience adorers.

A new Evil Dead comes with The Damned

By Jenny Alvarez

The Damned is a movie with certain possessive haunter. The story begins with an American (Facinelli), widowed from his Colombia-born wife, who flies to Bogota with his new fiancée (Myles) to retrieve his rebellious teenage daughter Jill (Ramos). After a car accident leaves them stranded in a rundown isolated inn, they discover the old innkeeper has locked a young girl in the basement and their decision to set her free has unintended consequences. Even the plot and sequences of each scene is very predictable, it has many elements so visually is sickening and scared and the characters can’t go anywhere without being haunted, kidnapped, lost, or attacked. The purpose of scares is very well structured with some dialogues that are helped with an old spooky house. Definitely the cast is really talented where Nathalia Ramos is a part of it. She’s an amazing actress and Peter Facinelli is a great actor as well and the spectator will enjoy it during August in many movie theaters in USA.

The most twisted and gruesome character creations featured on Syfy’s hit competition series “Face Off” will be live and “In the Flesh” at both Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood’s “Halloween Horror Nights” events, beginning Friday, September 19.  Nightmarish creatures will surround guests on both coasts as the macabre visions of some of the most talented up-and-coming make-up artists’ from the show are brought to life.

Universal Orlando’s Halloween Horror Nights will feature an all new street experience with ten different character creations inspired by the acclaimed Syfy series, including a look designed by season 5 “Face Off” winner and Universal Orlando make-up artist, Laura Tyler. The hair-raising, horrifying characters will inhabit five unique and immersive environments within the scare zone, from eerie scarecrows that go to great lengths to protect a spine-chilling farmland to ghoulish brutes that haunt dilapidated castle ruins.

Universal Studios Hollywood’s all-new “Halloween Horror Nights” maze, “Face Off:  In the Flesh,” will recreate the morbidly disturbing inventions masterminded by visionary make-up special effects artists over the course of the show’s past six seasons.  Twenty-two original “Face Off” designs – from human-insect hybrids to horror villains, ancient mummies and zombies with a haunting mix of electronica-inspired dance music.

Knott's Scary Farm will be your best nightmare

Special Coverage for GalaTView.com

For all my readers I’m not a big fan of horror and haunted attractions, but I have to say, that with the exception of only one other haunt, I would say that Knott’s was my favorite thus far. When I knew that I was going to cover Knott’s Scary Farm I noticed the monsters not trying as hard as other haunted attractions. Even some of the new mazes this year are usually the most popular, you will be part of the long queue lines but this is not a real issue if you are really interested in each attraction and most of them are worth it.

Some highlights

The Trick or Treat maze, where you can really trick or treat and the fog machines working overtime near the entrances, making for easy scares but lot more monsters too and they were enthusiastic. I usually get a little disappointed that the monsters seem to lose that toward the end of the night and the lack of lighting for some areas of the park.

I also have to remark El Dia De Los Muertos some monsters do not hide, but stand there waiting for people in plain sight. Towards the end, it gets a little better with the Aztec-type skeletons coming at you this was really wonderful and people with Hispanic heritage will  appreciate a small tribute to this attraction. I liked how detailed some of their costumes were and make up as well. Thankfully the employees and guides would shine their flashlights and kindness and help all Media team navigate thru.

Finally, I loved the fact that most of the actors still haunt in that area even though its deserted makes it even creepier so becomes this place in a magical experience for some prices may vary but you can get good deals on Knott’s Web site. Enjoy your creepy trip!

The Titanic is not sunk with its Bodies

By Jenny Alvarez

“Titanic-The Experience” is an amazing, poignant exhibit and a must-see for anyone interested in her tragic and short history. There are hundreds of original artifacts on display that were recovered after spending most of the last century in the dark, frigid Atlantic waters 2.5 miles below the ocean surface. The Experience allows visitors to travel back in time and board the historic vessel where authentic artifacts recovered from the wreck site, interactive storytellers in period costume, and replicas of passenger cabins allow you to experience the unforgettable sights, sounds, and emotions of the Titanic.

“Bodies-The Exhibition” also brings guests face to face with the miraculous machine we call the human body, showcasing real, full-body specimens and organs that provide a three-dimensional vision of the human form.

It’ s fascinating and there is absolutely no other time in your life you will see a real body up close enough to see the intricacies of the human body. Especially when it is a gruesome concept to be slicing cadavers open, but I found it to be so interesting.  They shown slices of the human form and all different systems- from musculoskeletal to circulatory to nervous system. Of course there are more things that public must see. There also were important spokespersons including, Dr. Roy Glover, Chief Medical Director of Bodies, Mark Lach, Creative Director of Titanic The Experience, and Alex Klingelhofer, Vice President of Collections. You will fun and absorb all the educational and entertainment experiences with this exhibition but even this is not for everybody since though some parts are interesting and real, other things you might see might be disturbing depending on the individual.

The bad news is that tickets are very pricey and not worth a second visit at a full price but there will be some deals if you look through the internet. The ongoing Exhibition is located at The Premier Exhibition Center at the Former Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park CA. and the official opening was on August 1st

Sleep deprivation messes up your apetite, your ability to think clearly and your health. This was the Michael Jackson’s case who was unable to remember  his songs and some dancing steps which reflected that he was totally sleep-deprived by the time of his death, a sleep expert told a jury Friday.
